We rely heavily on fundraising and successful grant application to fund our facilities and courses. If you wish to donate we have a crowdfunding link below:
Below is some of our previous fundraising challenges and activities that we have done.
Tough Mudder 2022
This year en-mass we headed to Tough Mudder North West (40 Adults + 18 Children!) to dive in mud all in aid of a good cause. We pulled, dragged, pushed and fished each other out of swamps all of the way around the 5KM course.
Both our Adult and ‘Lidl Mudders’ team banked amazing moments in our #titterbox memories and just had a brilliant time.
The serious side is that we need to keep raising money to support those who need us. The fun side is that we got up, made our beds, tied on trainers tight and had a mud bath with a superb team of people.
Previous fundraising events
In June 2017 Carrie was sidelined from riding and competing due to breaking both of her arms in a bad fall. At that time we needed to fund a new yurt in order that we could have a base for our courses and activities so with that in mind the idea of a 24 hour continuous horse ride was formed. By the start of the ride Carrie had one working arm so basically the format involved riding a different horse every hour for 24 hours. 5 minute rest breaks were built in to stretch out very tight muscles and visit the facilities but all eating and drinking was done on board! The idea of 24 hours came from the link to people living with mental health issues and the fact that they don’t often have the option to switch off and go to sleep, this is mentally and physically exhausting. The fundraiser was a success and raised nearly £3000.
We are always very proud to hear of the antics that some of our supporters get upto to raise money for our events. In September Cliff bravely completed the rat race endurance event in Scotland and managed to raise a brilliant £1400.
Carrying on our theme of 24 hour challenges we decided to do a 24 hour stretcher carry up and down Parbold Hill in October. This involved an amazing group of people including volunteers and supporters and veterans and blue light workers that had previously attended our courses. It was a brilliant team event that again raised much needed funds and awareness for our projects.
We are always looking for ways to fund our courses and respite days. If you have any ideas or would like to run a fundraising event for us then please get in touch and we will support you in any way that we can.
