The story of our stones…
On completion of our horse intervention course participants are invited to choose a word or short phrase that will link them back to the work and progress that they have made here at Stable Lives. Individuals leave our courses refreshed and with hope for the future and we encourage them to keep that positivity with them as their recovery progresses. There will be good days and bad days but we hope that by leaving their rock here they can remember a time of hope and opportunity for the future.
The rocks are placed on our water feature that has been built by previous course attendees. Rocks can be placed face up or face down and once placed will remain there forever. In the past some people have chosen the name of the horse or pony that helped them to rekindle the ability to trust and hope again, for others they have used words such as ‘enlightened’ or ’empowered’. It is personal to the individual and links them to a safe, calm place where they are welcome to return for continued support or to celebrate future development.
